Palms City Resort Management Team
All rooms have individual, split-system air conditioning for your comfort. This has been pre-set for your convenience and maximum efficiency. When operating the air conditioner, please use only the following buttons on the remote control:
Press ON/OFF to turn air conditioner on or off
Press the button to raise temperature
Press the button to lower temperature.
***Please note that the air conditioner should not be set below 20 degrees as the system will freeze up and be ineffective. Due to he high humidity and high day temperatures in Darwin it can take 20 -30 minutes for your room to cool down. Please ensure that you ave closed any windows and doors to assist with the cooling process. For further clarification please refer to the information beside you’re A/C remote control. Please contact Reception if you have any problems with the A/C.
Should you wish to leave baggage with us, please contact Reception. We request that you remove anything you may need for the day whilst your bags are in storage to prevent needing multiple access. Please note we offer all care but accept no responsibility for your belongings.

BAR – POOL SIDE
Lameroo Poolside Cocktail Bar is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 4pm to 7pm (weather dependent).
All Bungalows have an outdoor electric barbeque on their balcony for guest use. Simply use the temperature dial to set your required cooking temperature. Please only use the supplied barbeque utensils on the non-stick surface, to prevent scratching. Your barbeque plate will be cleaned each morning after use at no charge.
There are guest usage areas including a communal babeque next to the Swimming Pool and another smaller option outside the Lameroo Cafe which is available 10am to 10pm which also includes a small cubby house.

Parking is available for guests staying in our Hotel Rooms and Garden Bungalows and is located behind the reception building. As there is limited parking spaces, we cannot guarantee onsite parking and is subject to availability. Guests who have reserved a Tropical, Sunset or Palms Villa have guaranteed parking allocated within the resort – reception staff will show you where they are located. Additionally, guests can park at the State Square underground carpark located adjacent to the resort on Herbert Street. It is accessible 24 hours and priced at $2.00 per hour between 8.00am and 5pm Mon – Fri but is free from 5pm – 8am Monday to Friday, weekends and Public Holidays.

Check Out time is 10.00am. Complimentary luggage storage may be available for late departures on a “no charge” basis. Should you wish to leave baggage with us, please contact Reception. There is a Chemist Warehouse on the corner of Knuckey and Mitchell Street, and a Bardens Pharmacy in the Smith Street Mall (direct access through the Darwin Galleria). Both are within walking distance from the resort, please check their opening hours direct.
COFFEE & TEA MAKING FACILITIES
All guest rooms are provided with complimentary tea and coffee making facilities. These are refreshed by Housekeeping in your daily service. Should you require any additional supplies these are available for collection at Reception.

Palms City Resort voltage is 240 volts, 50 cycle AC. The Kitchenette electricity in villas 201 – 213 is activated by the power switch located on the inside wall of the kitchenette. Please do not plug in any larger appliances such as portable fridges as this may cause the electricity to your accommodation to short out. Charges may apply if this is the case. The resort does not accept any liability for damages to outside appliances plugged in to resort power sockets.

Please take time to read these instructions and be prepared. This will help you avoid panic in case of fire.
- All Palms City Resort rooms are fitted with smoke detectors.
- If you are on the first floor, please note the nearest fire exits to your room.
- If you smell smoke, dial 9 to Reception and inform the Duty Manager.
- Carefully touch the door with the back of your hand, do not open the door if it is hot. If door is not hot, carefully look outside and go to the nearest fire exit and move towards the muster point located on The Esplanade side of property (the front of the resort). Please refer to the fire evacuation plan on the back of the door (Rooms) or on the wall (Villas).
The resort has a chest freezer available for guests to store any fish that they have caught whilst in the NT. Conditions apply, please see Reception.

A Freezer is located in the guest laundry for guests to store frozen items during their stay. Please label your goods, if items are not labelled they may be discarded.
The guest laundry is marked GL on the resort map and is on the ground floor next to room 245. It is open between 6.00am and 10.00pm and is locked overnight for the comfort of all resort guests. Tokens can be purchased from reception and are $6 per token.

Washing Powder is available for purchase from reception $1.50.
Air dryers are available from the laundry is required. Please return when finished with them for other guests to use.

A hair dryer is located in the wardrobe or bathroom vanity – depending on your room type.
The Housekeeping Department will be happy to assist with any additional supplies and services to make your stay more comfortable. Housekeeping is available from 8:00am and 3:00pm everyday with room servicing normally after 11:30am. Please place your towels on the bathroom floor if you wish them to be changed, or if they are hanging up they will be left for continued use. Please
note that the washing of dishes is not part of the daily servicing of your accommodation. Please note that if you have put your DND sign on your door during anytime between 9am – 3pm you will need to let Reception know you have removed it if you wish to ensure your room is serviced that day. For any servicing requirements, including any after hour’s assistance, please dial 9.
Guest ice is available in the top of the freezer in the Guest Laundry – as there is a limited supply the resort requests that this is used for drinks and not filling eskies. If the freezer is empty please see Reception.
Wireless Internet Service is available throughout the resort. Please refer to your welcome letter/map from check-in for the current WiFi password.
Irons and ironing boards are located in the guest laundry. Additional irons and ironing boards are available for collection from Reception (subject to availability).
Please keep your room key with you at all times and return upon check-out. This key will unlock the pedestrian gate to Herbert Street and also the gate located next to guest laundry to the guest carpark. Villa keys also include a swipe to lower the chain gates for access to their allocated car parks. As Reception is 24 hours you can leave your key in Reception for safekeeping whilst you
are off the resort grounds if you prefer. Charges apply for loss of Key. If you require a 2nd key, a deposit of $50 is required and refunded when the 2nd key is returned.
LAUNDRY SERVICE/DRY CLEANING SERVICES
If you require dry cleaning/laundry service, a laundry bag and list of charges is located in the back of the Guest Compendium. Please bring your laundry to Reception prior to 7:00am, and this will be returned the same day, Monday to Saturday, not including Public Holidays.
Please contact Reception for assistance. Dial 9. If lost property is located in your room after you depart all efforts are taken to contact you to arrange it to be returned. Please note that all lost property is only held at the resort for a month before it is discarded.

A flashing light on your telephone will advise you if we have received any mail addressed to you. A mailing service is available from Reception for any outgoing mail.

The local newspaper, Northern Territory News is available for sale from Reception. If Reception has sold out, Newspapers can be purchased from the Newsagency in the Smith Street Mall or the Coles Supermarket in Mitchell Street.

Due to health regulations pets are not allowed on the property.

Palms City Resort does not accept responsibility for personal belongings or valuables left in rooms or public areas. Should you wish to put valuables in the safe, please contact Reception.
Palms City Resort provides 24 hour security cover via cameras and a 24 hour manned Reception. It is important to ensure you keep your doors locked both when you are inside as well as out for the day. Should you have any security issues, please contact the Manager on Duty at Reception.
Darwin City shopping including Smith Street Mall is just a few minutes walk from Palms City Resort. Please contact Reception for details for any special needs you may have.
Villas 201, 205 and 206 have their own private plunge spas. Please do not turn blower on unless filter pumps are operating. Please do not use blower for longer than 10 minutes at a time. Do not add any detergent, soaps, shampoo etc, into spa. Due to noise regulations, spa blowers automatically shut down between the hours of 10.00pm to 7.00am for the convenience of fellow guests.
Our outdoor swimming pool is open for use of hotel guests only from 6.00am to 10.00pm. All children are to be accompanied by adults. No glass is allowed in the pool area. Pool towels are inside your room cupboard, if you require additional towels they are available for collection from Reception.
